Around 40 something days ago a friend of mine yelled ecstatically “The Ting Tings is Comiiiiiing!”. I nodded with a thoughtful smile saying “Really??” but had not even a slightest idea what The Ting Tings is (just like Joe in Friends). Yeah, call me old fashion, but I also just realized that my mp3 collection for dance songs genre are limited to some Pop R&B songs that you hear 24/7 in radio in early 2000’s. Anyway, her excitement gave me a pang of curiosity to know what kind of band that makes my friend so hysteric and me almost deaf. The funny thing was the day after that, a colleague at office played it out loud from her PC and say “I love The Ting Tings”… and those very catchy of “aa…aa… aa…aa…aaaa… and ee…ee…eeeee…eeee” with beat that made me want to dance as soon as it hit my eardrums, embedded to my mind ever since. let's Run!
I feel lucky to be able to witness such a great sport event like Nike+ Human Race. Back several months ago when my client told me the idea, concept, and what has been done last year for Human Race, I thought “O, it sounds cool!”, but that’s it. As I wrote in my previous post, I’m still developing my passion and knowledge regarding run. For you who’s wondering what’s on earth is Nike+ Human Race. Nike+ Virtual Human Race is a part of Nike+ program, a program which provided a complete solutions for every runner individual or professional around the world. The first Virtual Human Race succeeds in gathered 780.000 runners around the world. This year Nike Indonesia will host part of Virtual Human Race in Indonesia actively to celebrate the run and gives opportunity for runners to run together. This year they conducted in 24 cities around the world but virtually in the whole world. need more information? you can go here.
The big event is not “yet” held in Indonesia this year, but we had the pre-event in Jakarta called Nike Run Jakarta 5K on 18th of October 09, it went very well for a start of Nike Run Club Jakarta, around 300 runners joined the race, mostly teenagers. We also got several potential runners that we can bring to Singapore to join the Big Day of Human Race. I was so excited, but still thinking that this isn’t enough for theme as appealing as HUMAN RACE. Keep reading →

I’m glad I finally done it! I always feel proud of myself every time I did something new, something that I’ve never done before, something that out of my comfort zone and something that need not people’s approval to do it… hmm… the prolog seems a bit lebay (too much) for only had the 1st eyelashes extension I think *LOL*, anyway, here’s the story of how I got my new eyelashes look.
Having my eyelashes extended was not a new idea for me. I’ve been reading about it since I was in college. If you ask why, O just because! But it’s quite expensive to get the treatment in a beauty salon. Need around 250,000 IDR to 500,000 IDR for permanent false eyelashes – the good one, and of course I can think of thousand other ideas on how to spend that amount of money. Therefore, I postpone the idea until around 2 weeks ago one of my colleagues at office, Sisi Sigar, told me that she feels like having an eyelashes extension, I instantly said I want to try that too, but again she mentioned quite expensive price that made me re-consider in split second.
But a few days later Sisi came with new long lashes that amazed me and declared that she finally found a freelancer beautician that can provide a home service treatment and the price is amazingly affordable. Halleluiah! Not only I have her as my guinea pig, but it’s cheap too! Hahaha… after several days looking at her flicked her long eyelashes proudly, and the jealousy grew slowly in my heart, I unfaltering decided this is the right moment, and I shall not adjourn it any longer. I’ve never been into running-as-a-sport in my life before I have one major sports brand in the world as my client. For me – I don’t know about you – running was a bit pointless. What are you chasing that required you to move that swiftly and spend a lot of energy? What’s the challenge, you’re walking anyway here and there. And the most important is where are you going to run? It’s Jakarta, populated, polluted and noisy! Running by the street? The chances are: you’re getting hit by a slack bus /motorcycle, you inhale heavy carbon dioxide, or no track is viable enough for a long run except you’re a big fan or running among the food carts (never imagine a nice big clean pavement along the street here). And I don’t feel like running on treadmill because the ideas of “running” but actually you’re going nowhere just as pointless as the first one. Been there done that! But then these past 2 months it’s inevitable for me to start learning the essence of running. Nike – my client – has some running related products. Me, as their appointed Public Relations Consultant must dig more than just the surface about running, just so I’ll be able to talk about the product in in-depth angle.but what started as just a “job” turn into a change of mind and habit. It was a very bright Saturday when the 4th of us (Veni, Edwyn, Tiko and I) decided to take a short fun trip to somewhere outdoor and getting wet as well. At first we decided to go to Snowbay, it’s a waterpark (just like Waterboom or Waterbom) that claimed they have the largest wavepool in Jakarta — 45sq meter. Thou they don’t have many slides like I’ve enjoyed at Waterbom (check out my post), but the idea of hanging around a large wavepool, provoked us to go there. We arrived at Snowbay around 8.30 AM but the place open at 9 AM and it was so hot. The place barely has something shady such as trees or cabana or gazebo to take shelter if we (or other visitors) feel it’s too hot, it’s a big turn off for us (Veni and I has this strong hesitation to get tan just like almost any other Indonesian women hahaha). So we changed the plan and as soon as possible heading to Marina Pool at Pantai Indah Kapuk. Keep reading →
