hm... January, I thank thee
Wow, feels like it’s just yesterday we were celebrating New Year and that’s it! In a split second we’re going to end the first month of the year. The work load was nuts this month, my check list is full since day 1 I’m back to work, back from the nicest trip of 2009. At least with this post I have several posts in my blog for January, so I’m still keeping my resolutions. As I lay on my bed last night and thinking of how expeditious time fly, the feeling to recap this month grew stronger. So many things had happened in a month of my life, a lot of meeting, a lot of proposals, 3 wedding parties, El’s 1st birthday, a lot of movies & hang out, and crazy thematic outfit to office. I realized, I’m surrounded by really nice people, my friends, my colleagues, even my clients (need not to mention my family
) but more than events, I had my life lessons too this month that I’m going to recap below: Keep reading →

My Desk... it's all about snack & candy
Looking back at all things I have written down about my life, I just realized I don’t talk much about my work. I love my work and really enjoy being a PR Consultant. Hm, I just don’t want to sound I’m boasting about it. There’s no point of bragging about how well our position and how high our achievement in office if you reached it with imbalance life. There’s also no point of showing of something that can easily gone, like a job. Anyway, I always like it wherever I work, I believe there’s no ideal place to work on this earth, one that contained people with a very positive attitude 24/7, with wise and nurturing superior, and supporting yet high-initiative subordinates, who also provide you a fat paycheck with “sufficient” work load, plus a really nice architectural office building to go to every weekday. No, I don’t think such office exists. My office now is okay, with it’s up and down in each project. I’ve been to 7 companies in my life and I found every office has their own benefit and challenge. can I go with you?
Hm, I have 1001 resolutions in my head since December 2009! I’m pretty sure that whenever we put all of our heart in things we’re doing, we know we’ll get whatever we desire in the end… I always believe God created us – human – with limitless ability to dream and the capability to reach the dream, but we also need to focus… Anyway, after very complicated Resolutions I had last year, but glad that most of it are done
I decided to simplify my resolutions in 2010. That doesn’t mean when I plan less, I hope less as well. No, Not at all! I’m a dreamer, and will always try to keep myself that way. But simplify is more to make things straightforward and reduce the unnecessary complications that usually comes from my own unnecessary thinking process. Hahaha. Okay… I’ll make it in pointers, and you guys, please help me out to make sure it’s the “good” one for me
or maybe you can help me out to achieve it in time hahaha… Oh, I know this is end of January already, but never too late for resolutions! Keep reading →

Crazy friends help you deal with life
No, broken heart it’s not an easy thing to get over
I got to admit that and I don’t want to simplify it… but it’s not something worth to cling to for some extended time as well. In fact, it’s a wasting of time. Cuz you see, there are just too many beautiful things out there to enjoy, as much as a person that you can falling in love with again. I remember when I was “curhat” (sharing feelings) with my male friend. Instead of mourning with me, he laughed his ass-off over my broken heart and say: “O please Lolo, see… so many guys out there! Too many! This one is just a single fish in a big ocean!” At first I was sort of want to slap him in the face, but his laugh is just too funny and he’s saying it from his heart. I end up laughing with him.. He made my day at that time… but after months, and you’re going here and there, there are times when you’re asking yourself whether you really get over this guy or not or you’re just pretending cuz you still remember him once or twice. You see girls (or boys) the signs are so clear, and you need to have more self-confidence. To make it clear, here’s the list of the signs that lead to your fully understanding, you are tottaly got over him. So be happy, cuz you’re not just any other girl who like to be clingy to their ex-s and begging for their attention. Thou in my case seems like it is the guy who’s hoping me to be like that. Our next destination is Dieng. This area is quite famous but it’s also quite challenging to get there. Let me give you brief information about Dieng Plateau that I collect from various sources. Dieng Plateau located approximately 26 KM in the northern capital of Wonosobo, situated 2,093m (around 6000 feet) above sea level and that explain how cold it will be. The temperature ranged from 15 – 20 C. It’s surrounding by a group of Mountains – that’s why it’s call Plateau, basically because you can see almost all from the top. Sindoro and Sumbing are the prominent ones, but there are a lot other mountains such as Pakuwaja, Sikunir, Prau, etc. And the rest of the information you can read at our beloved Wikipedia click here
We arrived at Dieng quite late around 8 pm. It was really really cold there that its alter the breath into white vapor like smoke. That’s fun thou! Hehehe… you seldom can do that in any part of Indonesia. The fog was quite thick; as we’re arriving there we still can see around 100 m ahead. My brother is a bit obsessed with fog (I just knew that). Before we get to Dieng there’s another place we should visit, Agrotourism Tambi Tea Plantation that located on the road to Dieng. They have their own visitor’s package, including rooms and package to walking around the tea garden. Unfortunately, the place is full when we call them, so we didn’t stay there. The signage and direction is easy to follow, we drove there as the fog getting thicker, but the view of tea bushes that stretched as far as the eye can see is incredibly beautiful, the fog seems like make a wall around it. It’s a captivating picture indeed, mixed colors of very intense green and gray. The cold is like biting your skin, but you’ll kind of forget to complain about that too… no, being in the beautiful nature like this you could never complain about anything… it’s just too beautiful! We drove a bit to the top (maybe, we can’t see the tops anyway), stop at a the road side and taking pictures whilst enjoying the thick fog there. My brother looked extremely happy! Hahaha…

Hear O hear the tea leaves converse with the fog

Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul. ~ John Muir
When I threw a question to my friends regarding sites that I should visit on the way to Yogyakarta, most of them will say firmly that I should go visit Baturraden. They said it has a breath taking view with a lovely waterfall. Its been ages ago since the last time I saw a waterfall. So Baturraden it is, our first destination.
We woke up quite early in the morning for preparation and put all our stuff back in the car. The hotel gave us a lousy Fried Rice as a breakfast compliment, no one touch it, oh Dad did but only a little and broadcast it to the rest of the “gank”. But there’s mbok-mbok (old lady) walking around the hotel and selling a fresh milk which taste like milk from heaven, that sort of make my morning. We’re getting ready whilst watching the discussion between George Aditjokro with Ramadhan Pohan regarding a controversial book “Membongkar Gurita Cikeas” for a while (news is important for our family) then and leaving after the discussion done.

DURIAN! Yum!
Unfortunately, the rain started pouring harder and harder. And as we’re passing the tourist site gate, we knew it was pointless to visit the area in the middle of the hard pouring rain like this. Plus there’s bunch of elementary school kids lining to get in to the park with various colors of umbrellas. So we drove around the Baturraden location then down the road and found a nice restaurant name Tahu Kupat. Their signature food of course the Tahu Kupat, it was so delicious! Yummy! And my Dad, he bought me 2 Durian fruits! Halleluya! It was so yummy, I was speechless! Thanks Dad! Me and my Mom ate that Durian, just the 2 of us. I actually ate 1 and a half Durians. Around 1 and half hour the rain turned to drizzle and I couldn’t wait any longer to get in the site, so we went back to the park. Keep reading →
