10 Days to Christmas! Yippie!

December 15, 2009 · Leave a Comment

It’s 10 Days Before Christmas Day! Yay! I’m so happy… so so happy! Well, some people might think: “O c’mon Lolo, it’s just Christmas! Another day, another holiday” No, my dear friend, NO!  It’s Christmas + New Year. Thou I’m a Christian (a so-so one), but I’m not the person who thinks a lot of Christmas as Jesus Christ’s Birthday, to reminisce the day our savior born.  Yes, that could consist of that too, but for me it’s more like one whole year celebrations! The faith elevation it brings the vibes, the ambience, the feeling, the smile, the family, the family, the family (yes I did repeat it 3x), the sermon, the Church, the Christmas performance, the preparation…  so many more! Oh I love Christmas, then to make it even better it follow by New Year! The New beginning. O yes!  Keep reading →

The Disturbing Case of Prita vs OMNI Hospital

December 9, 2009 · 2 Comments

This matter has been stuck in my mind for months already. Every time I think about it I get angry to the bones. The injustice that shown by this story is beyond my understanding of how one big corporation with all its power press charge on their customer, put her in jail and as if it’s not enough they want her to pay a lot of money too.

Me and Giant Trees — I love ‘em so much!

December 5, 2009 · 2 Comments

O how I’m so blessed with the lovely trip to the nature this Saturday. It’s been quite sometimes  since my last visit to Kebun Raya Bogor, the Botanical Garden that located in the heart of Bogor, the small satellite city of Jakarta. I always love this giant garden. I wish I have more time to go there just to sit between the trees and reading and might be contemplating.

If you’re wondering what is Bogor Botanical Garden, you can click here (in Bahasa Indonesia) or click here (In English). The garden was founded in 1817 by the Dutch and has been a centre for promotion of agriculture and horticultural science in Indonesia. It’s it is a 85-hectare garden in case you’re wondering, so you might need a little more than a day or two to walk and see all the beautiful things in it thoroughly.

I went there with at first a stranger that soon become a dearly friend to me. A friend who had traveled so far to visit this place. His name is Craig and he’s a Canadian from Washington D.C. :) Interesting huh? We were having an amusing  conversation  with a lot of topic to laugh at, and how I wish someone take a film on us, because those moment seriously like the one in the movie. :)

Love

December 2, 2009 · Leave a Comment

I have to post this one…

“Love is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion. That is just being “in love” which any of us can convince ourselves we are. Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident.”St. Augustine

What A Weird Day

November 30, 2009 · 2 Comments

Today is such a really weird day and doesn’t need a psychic to tell you that. Two people committed suicide in 2 different prominent malls in Jakarta. The first one was a 24 years old girl who jumped from the level 5th Grand Indonesia Mall on 4.15 PM. She fell to the escalator and die on the spot. That’s heart breaking already. There was a lot of speculations regarding her accident falling from the 5th floor, some said she’s slipping down, some said she fell because of the railing not sufficiently safe, etc. but the mall’s CCTV shown that she was voluntarily jump down.  As if it’s not enough to distress Jakarta’s population, another shocking news stroked again. On 8.20 PM a 25 years old man jump from 5th level of Senayan City Mall. He died on the way to hospital.  Another speculation emerged, that he was the first suicide-girl’s boyfriend. But –again – the Mall’s CCTV proofed that he really committed suicide.  Later today the real facts emerging, that the girl who’s name Ice Juniar was mentally ill and came to Jakarta to seek for a treatment. While no news at all about who was Reno.  And it is certain that the two had no relations at all. This is just a weird day, when out of the blue two young people decided to end their life in such a tragic way. Keep reading →

My 1st Time Watching Football Live in Stadium

November 18, 2009 · 4 Comments

C'MON ManU!!!

I’m not a diehard fan of football (or in some country they called it soccer), but yeah, I like to watch a football game. Some of my friends mocked me by asking me where’s the fun in watching 21 men chasing one little ball and try to put it in net. Silly, but they got a point there. For me personally, why I choose football among other sport because of what it takes to win one game, not only you need to be skillful with your feet (imagine how hard it is trying not to touch the ball with your hand for 1 hour), but it also requires a good stamina (more than 2 hours running around), a strong team work and not individual effort, a strategic thinking, a leadership, a strong spirit and passion, and many qualities JUST to put one goal. The tireless effort is astonishing to watch, and the 2 hours game is never too long.

But all this time, I only watch BIG matches on TV, after all my favorite one is the ELP match with Manchester United in it and – of course – the World Cup. In high school I was watching almost all leagues, but along the time (read: getting older) I don’t think I still have the energy to watch them all and stay up late every weekend. BUT – I always imagine how cool it’ll be watching a game live from stadium – well, as for me watching Manchester United for specific. I’ve been watching a lot of movie about football fans, their bigotry, and the crazy vibe in stadium during the football match, it intrigued me a lot.

Manchester United Fan!
