[Photos] My First Bangkok Trip

Well, this trip was a business trip. Media Trip for Nike – my client. I accompanied 2 media to cover the South East Asia final event of Manchester United Premium Cup.  Nothing much to say about the work, but it was one really fun business trip, and I finally found out that Bangkok is truly nice, not to mention that everything is cheap here… so here’s just some of the photos of what I did for fun there… :)

The Team that went to Bangkok... :) and the Nike MUPC Cup

Yes, I finally ate those crispy friend insects.... Taste just like chips with cooking oil....

Well, why waste a nice photo booth? :)

Lovely Weekend: Beauty Saloon, Food & Suddenly Concert

lolo's sleeping weekendIt was officially 40 hours I’ve been stayed in my room before I finally go out last Saturday morning. The mood was so low due to my cancelled trip to Gili, Lombok. I’m blaming myself for didn’t make plan B n C as usual. This time I was so sure that I took it for granted. Well, I got my lesson but still my mood was crashed to the ground. Anyhow, there’s nothing so painful with spending days on the bed in your own room. In fact when I feel so depressed and anti social, I can do it for 3 days in a row without any remorse feeling or an urge to meet other human being. I can be such a total loner and it can be so self-indulging sometimes.

weekend with Veni

Veni got pampered!

Thank God for a friend who’s by instinct knows that something wrong and give you a call to get you out of the misery. Several friends did call me to ask me out on Friday night, but I wasn’t in the zone yet. Saturday morning, Veni called me right when I’m so hungry, so no reason to reject her invitation to accompany her go to the beauty parlor to cut hair and have mani-pedicure, lotsa food around there. I ate 3 types of foods in a row and had pedicure. You should try di Laris Love Salon at Benhill, pedicure only IDR 25.000! Geez!. After that Riana called me, asking whether I’m interested to go with her to this secret place (sorry couldn’t tell you the about this destination). I said yes, so Veni dropped me off to meet Riana. We go to the secret place, and turn out it was quite a mind boggling experience for me. And then a bbm popped up  from my friend Dien, saying “Rather than being disappointed why don’t you come and join me to these concerts, Langit Musik and later Suede, I have free tickets if you want it…” . Yeah, I was put “disappointed” as my BB status that time. And someone actually pay attention. Continue reading

[Painting] Midnight painting: Watching The Sunset

Who doesn’t love a Sunset? And teal color keeps playing on my mind these past week, although I was thinking of a lighter teal than I have here. It’s really challenging for me to mix water color and get the exact color that’s on my mind. Up until now, I still haven’t found the magenta color that I desired, any advice on the basic colors to mix? I’m so open to suggestion.

The one bird is reflecting on the experience of watching the Sunset, which is always personal.

So I put the title: Watching the Sunset.

[Painting] Long Finished Painting: Butterflies in The Sun

Took quite sometimes to finished this one. Well, most of my painting are in a quite small medium – A3 paper – then it doesn’t take too long to get one done, supposedly. I started to paint this one around 6 months ago, when I was so eager to paint butterflies on a bright red background, but I was stuck there. Maybe my concept wasn’t too strong. Took around 9 hours just to draw and paint the butterflies.

But yesterday, I was looking at it again and again. I then imagine the butterfly between flowers and the soft pollens floating around. So, took another couple of hours, I finally consider this one done. I like the bright colors!

I hope you like it too: Butterflies in the Sun.

The 2nd Pilgrimage to Ambarawa: The art of losing is so hard to master.

Alex AbimanyuIt’s almost a year since my first pilgrimage to Alex’s grave at Ambarawa. It was such a heart moving journey, please read the story here. I barely knew Dinda at that time. Little I knew about her family too. But a year is not a long period to make 2 strangers become close friend especially when they are meant to be. Dinda and I shares our lives ever since and this time she really mean it when she asked me to accompany her to this pilgrimage. The first one she was actually ask Adi and Adi tagged me along. No hurt feeling. Hehehe…

To my blessing, a year not only made me close to Dinda but also to Alex’s mom & Dad (Dinda’s mother and father in-law), Om Djoeno and Tante Titi. Funny how life brings us somewhere we never imagine before or people that we never thought will be so close to, and story of life that we share so intensely.

on the way to Semarang by Train

Comfortable Trip :)

Just like last year, we went by train again. It was fun and comfortable, and good to know that Indonesia have a quite good public transportation that we can actually enjoy. 7 hours on the train and I didn’t feel even close to bored. Well the credit also goes to my notebook (with collection of movies in there), as well as social media. *grin*. Arrived at Semarang, Om Djoeno picked us up and took us to Ambarawa, first to Alex’s grave. It was raining really hard on the way from Semarang to Ambarawa, but God listen to our prayers, it became a little drizzle when we arrived at the cemetery, almost 6 pm and dark. So far, this is my favorite cemetery. I know it’s weird to have favorite cemetery, but don’t know why I like this one a lot, and I’ve been to some cemeteries. We couldn’t stay too long there since it supposedly closed already. Our prayer short but there’s a good relieve to be there. Continue reading

Milestones of My Blogging Experience

blogging for dummiesI’ve been blogging since 2002. My first blog is on Live Journal, I blogged almost about anything I FEEL and I was totally anonymous. So anonymous that even I couldn’t track back my blog there now. I forgot the title! I’ve been trying to search it but… well, God must have a good reason for me NOT to find it – it must be really embarrassing. The blog was in Bahasa Indonesia, and I’m pretty sure it was such a mess! What can I say, newbie. Hahaha…

Then along came the era of social media that taught us very well about no more discretion in the virtual world. Everything needs to be open up, alias is no longer cool, in fact you can get your “virtual famous” in this digital media, where it SEEMS like everybody know you. I joined Friendster, they has blogging feature and I started blogging there. Sometimes in Bahasa Indonesia sometimes in English, depends on my mood. I realized that my English grammar is a mess – and still. But I believe writing in English will eventually help sharpen my English, and if I made a mistake I guess along the way people will help me out.  It’s really important to practice, or I will never ever confident enough to speak English. [Painting] Weekend painting: Ray of Light

I was in such a real good mood when I woke up last Saturday, and the first thing I wanted to do is painting. I’m not really good in panting still-life flower and no wonder to that since I don’t paint any still-life.  I need to practice for sure. Anyhow, I paint not to sell or to become an artist. I paint just because I like it. And in this lovely Saturday morning I feel like painting a flower. Continue reading
